Paul is a Dubai-based journalist, editor and content consultant with more than 20 years' experience across the UK and the Middle East, specialising in news, hospitality, food, business, design and culture.
After beginning his career in regional newspapers in the UK, Paul moved to Dubai in 2014 to join the Time Out GCC team. Over the following years he held a number of senior editorial positions across the portfolio, including region-wide Food Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Time Out Abu Dhabi. During this time, he developed a deep understanding of the region's hospitality and dining sectors, building trusted relationships with industry leaders while telling the stories behind some of the Middle East's most influential brands, venues and personalities.
He later joined ITP Media Group's Hospitality, Design and B2B division, where he led editorial teams and oversaw some of the region's most respected trade publications, including Hotelier Middle East, Caterer Middle East and Commercial Interior Design. His work focused on the business of hospitality, covering major industry developments, interviewing senior executives and shaping editorial agendas across multiple sectors.
Paul was also the launch editor and chief investigator for the UAE edition of Gault&Millau, helping establish one of the world's most respected restaurant guides in the region. He also oversaw the creation of Home Grown, a landmark cookbook celebrating more than 50 of the UAE's leading chefs and the country's evolving culinary identity.
Today, Paul works as a freelance writer, editor and content consultant, partnering with publications, agencies, brands and business leaders on feature writing, thought leadership, editorial strategy, content development and special projects. He brings a newsroom mindset to every assignment, combining rigorous reporting, strong storytelling and a deep understanding of audience engagement.
Throughout his career, he has covered everything from breaking news and industry investigations to long-form profiles of entrepreneurs, chefs, CEOs and government leaders. Whatever the subject, his focus remains the same: uncovering the human stories, insights and experiences that sit beneath the headlines.
Whether working on a magazine feature, a major content project or a one-to-one interview, Paul is driven by curiosity, clarity and a belief that the best stories are often found in the details others overlook.
