Who is Paul?

Editor, journalist, industry voice

Paul is a Dubai-based journalist, PR and brand storytelling consultant covering F&B, hospitality, interior design and culture, with more than 15 years’ experience across the UK and the UAE.

He moved to Dubai in 2014 to join the Time Out GCC team, where he went on to work across the group in a range of roles, including as region-wide Food Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Time Out Abu Dhabi. It was during this time that he built an enviable contact book and developed strong relationships with leaders across the F&B and hospitality industries, spending as much time understanding the people behind the scenes as reporting on what was happening.

He then moved to ITP Media Group’s Hospitality & Design division, overseeing brands including Hotelier Middle East, Caterer Middle East and Commercial Interior Design, covering the business of hospitality at the highest level. He was also the launch editor and chief investigator for the UAE edition of Gault&Millau, and later oversaw the creation of Home Grown, a recipe book featuring more than 50 of the country’s leading chefs.

Alongside his editorial work, Paul works with brands and individuals to shape how their stories are told, bringing a journalist’s perspective to PR, content and brand storytelling, with a focus on clarity, credibility and long-term narrative.

His work spans everything from breaking news to long-form interviews with presidents and CEOs of global hotel and food groups, but the through line is always the same: a curiosity about the people who make the industries tick.

Whether it’s a major industry shift or a conversation across a table, he’s drawn to the stories behind the surface, and the details others might miss.
